Katie is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and is currently a therapist at Wildflower Center for Emotional Health in River North. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Sociology from Ohio University and her Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Boston College.
Since obtaining her Masters degree, Katie has worked in private practice and higher levels of care with both adolescents and adults, serving as an individual, couples, family, and group therapist, as well as an intake coordinator. She has supported clients in addressing a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, eating disorders, fertility health, interpersonal issues, relationship concerns, and work-life harmony. Katie is passionate about women’s health and also enjoys working with adolescents, emerging adults, and men who may be new to therapy.
Katie approaches therapy authentically, aiming to cultivate a safe, supportive, and collaborative environment. In addition to exploring past experiences and patterns that may be contributing to current concerns, she uses a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based therapies to facilitate lasting change in the present. When appropriate, Katie also incorporates lessons from yoga into her work with clients.
